• Local Chapters Benefit From Local Social Media



    If you are part of a national association, and operate as a local chapter, you don’t always have to focus on national issues in your social media. In fact, you will have more interaction with your members if you focus social media messages on your area and sprinkle in some national news as well.   • Let your local member’s shine. Promote a member when they receive an award. Welcome a new member. Celebrate an anniversary milestone, 5-, 10-, 15- years of membership or being in business. Share best practices and member stories. Give a shout out to a volunteer who went above and beyond the call of duty. We like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to share the love, or likes. 
  • Give a national topic local feel. Is there something happening nationally that affects your national association? Break it down to the local level. Explain to your members how this will impact them where they live and do business. Short video streams on Periscope or Facebook are great tools for this type of message.
